Ms. Goldenstein has spent the past 30 years bringing new technologies to new markets predominantly in the life science industry. She has eight years experience as President and CEO realigning existing small companies and delivering significant improvements to shareholder value in both the public and private business sectors.
Currently Lissa is Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Auxogyn, Inc. which is an early stage company focused on advancing women’s reproductive and somatic health by providing a novel stem cell-based platform to alleviate unresolved medical conditions. Lissa led the company’s renowned Stanford founders to close its first round of funding with premier life science venture partners and launch the company in May 2010.
From September 2006 to June 2009, Lissa served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Artemis Health, Inc. which is an early stage, venture backed company dedicated to developing and commercializing noninvasive prenatal diagnostics. She stepped in as second CEO and defined the strategy, restarted the company in the Bay Area, raised a Series C round of financing, broadened the product portfolio by adding innovative intellectual property from Stanford University and met all company milestones to ensure clinical development began in July 2009.
Prior to Artemis Health, Lissa served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Argonaut Technologies, Inc (NASDAQ, AGNT) from October 2001 until June 2005, at which time Argonaut’s assets were sold to Biotage, AB. Argonaut was the leading provider of consumables, instruments and services that enable chemists in the pharmaceutical industry to accelerate and improve the development of new drugs. Lissa joined Argonaut in January 1998, when it was a venture backed, early stage company and was responsible for worldwide sales, marketing and service prior to becoming CEO.
Before joining Argonaut, Lissa was senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing with Molecular Simulations Incorporated, the largest provider of molecular modeling software for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. During that time Lissa was also President and CEO of Teijin and MSI Joint Venture (TMSI) where she managed Japan and Asia Pacific business. Lissa also directed sales activities for McDonnell Douglas corporation, providing CAD/CAM and robotics software solutions for the manufacturing and engineering industries.
Lissa has a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and received her Professional Engineers license as a structural engineer in the State of California. Lissa is a Board of Director for Argonaut Technologies and OtisMed Inc.
